Almost Summer
13 July 2011
Amanda Eliasch had pulled out of her hat her latest play As I Like It written by her and Lyall Watson. Staring her lovely son Charlie and Justin Glenton.
Amanda had put so much of her inner soul into this work, it was incredibly intense and gripping.
I visited the Khalili Boys’ new Gallery Shizaru and the art works reflected their personality. The art works were fun and surreal with a sense of humour. I Iiked particularly the work of Kelly McCallums and Bouke de Vries, who is already in the collection.
Bouke de Vries's new work
We were so lucky to visit Thomas Struth at the Whitechapel. We have a long history with him as Thomas’s father was many years ago my husband’s boss in Cologne. We were thrilled to see our two works in the collection hanging side by side.
Then Thomas gave a lovely speech with James Lingwood and Achim Borchardt-Hume proudly looking on.
We were in very good company we sat with Alan Kane and Jeremy Deller, who are great mates.
Then was our day the opening of We Will Live, We Will See Curated by Pavel Pyś. The show as far as I could work out was a big success and I was so excited to see some of my wonderful works on show. Steve Claydon’s A lark Descending (Preparations for Leda) in front of Sherrie Levine’s Fountain (Buddha).

Omer Fast’s The Casting which only on its own is a must-see as it is a work that will transfix you to the screen.
The opening was a wonderful success we received about four hundred guests and we served some wonderful sausages. Ayelet Elstein dropped by and proudly introduced for the first time to her gorgeous boys.
Tali was showing off her and Daniel’s lovely baba.
Our new front house lady Paola takes over from Bryony. Since she has started with us we have sold so many of our amazing editions - I hope we do not run out.
Then it was off to Montenegro to Nat Rothschild’s amazing Birthday Party the most amazing Plensa was looking over the whole bay in the distance as we partied the night away.
To my delight Fanny Diehl had curated an amazing show at Salon Vert. The work of James Ireland was beautiful.
