Back to work
14 September 2012
We invited all our neighbours in Sarvisalo.
Some of the kids checking out the Eva Rothschild, they did take their shoes of.
Intrigued by Sarah Braman’s work.
Investigation of Toby Ziegler by the neighbours.
Tea and Coffee supplied
Kids munching away at the Finnish Bulla.
Shoes off again for Mathew Day Jackson.
Mesmerized by Laura Buckley's 'Shields'
Ossian Ward on Residency in Sarvisalo with his wife and lovely son Inigo and baby Iris fast asleep in pram.
All the babies were out and dressed to impress.
Then after a relaxing spell in Ibiza I head back to London. Straight back to Stratford for Legacy List. The Paralympics was a huge success and a new kind of brave hero was brought to the surface, something that this world needs at the moment. This was so morally uplifting and such a contrast to all the disarray happening around the world.
On my way home I dropped into Bermondsey and Daniela Gareh introduced me to the Teacher of Theaster Gates, Mitchell Squire who proudly showed me his work.
One of Theaster’s hoses in concrete works.
Then it was Chelsea School of Arts to judge the GAM prize, which was quite wonderful. Bruce Haines from Ancient and Modern and Hilary Lloyd investigating the work of Lucy Whitford.
I like the work of Nicholas Dedics.
New and vivacious
In the West End the most fabulous shows. Thomas Houseago’s work ‘Striding Figure II (Ghost)’ was breathtaking, I was totally in awe.
Ugo Rondinone’s Circle painting powerful and haunting. Especially this one 'Siebenundzwanzigstermaizweitausendundzwolf'.
Alexander De Cuhna’s wall works were hatful and humorous.
At David Gill, Fredrikson Stallard’s new furniture show ‘Crush’ was full of interesting pieces.
