Brighton Bound!
7 July 2011
I found myself in a train heading towards Brighton with Liam to visit Keith Tyson.
He showed me his new top secret work and I can assure you Keith is Back In Action!!!!!
We had two good mugs of tea and lovely sandwiches
I acquired the most incredible nature painting which looks like an aerial view of the Finnish Archipelago.
Then we checked out Brighton Pier next to kids eating ice cream.
Boris Johnson managed to make time for me and we had a lovely lunch together in the English Sunshine talking about the Legacy List. He is very excited about the Bicycle Helmets the artists such as Tracey Emin, Peter Blake, Ron Arad and Keith Tyson are enhancing and will be auctioned on the 26th September at the Four Seasons by Sotheby’s.
In the evening was the Masterpiece art fair which was a little out of our depth … or should I say budget. However there were a few wonderful things to admire. The amazing William Ehrlich and Anish Kapoor Jewellery designed in collaboration with Louisa Guinness. Ben Brown was showing an epic Candida Hoeffer. Tim Jeffries stand which was decorated to perfection had the most incredible picture of the Queen by Annie Leibovitz. I was on the committee of Clic Seargent and Helen Taylor, Tim’s other half was the Chairwoman - she did a great job and raised £500 000 for the charity. It was a very glamorous turnout and the champagne was flowing.
Then it was back to Tracey World. On Thursday we sadly missed her beautiful dinner at Louis Vuitton which was by all accounts perfection, however we were all quite blown away on Sunday as we celebrated Tracey’s birthday in her magnificent studio. Tracey was as usual the hostess with the most-ess, the most loyal friend any one could want for and showing of those fantastic legs.
Sue Webster was helping with security.
Matt Collishaw gave the thumbs up to Mark Hix fare.
Carl Freedman was parading his little newest arrival.
Amanda Eliasch explaining to David Tang about her new play 'As I Like It', opening on Monday.
When I got back to the office there, plonked on Lizzies desk, an amazing proposal by James Ireland for Finland.
Toby Ziegler had also sent his suggestion for the new Art Barn over there… Finland is going to be fantastic.
