Frieze 2018: Part Two
30 October 2018
Frieze Masters and Sunday Art Fair
Before I headed over the other side of the park for some older stuff I checked out Darren Bader’s smoking man at Sadie Coles
And Anthea Hamilton’s smoking chair at Thomas Dane
Hauser & Wirth’s stand at Frieze Masters was showing the wonderful ‘Primrose Hill, Summer’ by Frank Auerbach
Van de Weghe had the most perfect Roy Lichtenstein ‘Pyramid III’, 1969 over a Perriand sideboard
At Waddington Custot I admired the work by Patrick Caulfield
I bumped into Olga Sviblova from MAMM at Equinox Gallery who was interested in the work of Canadian artist Gathie Falk whose works was made in the 1960s. Another take on minimalism
Afterwards we both dropped into Keith Tyson’s studio where he gave a wonderful talk about his work
His obsession with flowers had not receded and was as energetic as ever
I loved these pristine white flowers
Last stop Sunday Art Fair where we discovered the work of Srijon Chowdhury at Et al. from San Francisco
Tiffany Zab’s friend Sarah Meyohas was showing Jonah King - very impressive
