Goodbye Christmas in London
13 December 2017
Straight back into the throw of things, diving in head first
My first day at home was time with my Lil Sis Yana Peel at the home of Peter Mikic, who is very cool, celebrating the legendary Rose Wylie
Melissa Blanchflower curated Rose Wylie’s show ‘Quack Quack’ at Serpentine Galleries to perfection – I was so impressed
The works were powerfully visual and talked about different issues from ducks in the park to guns firing in the war over London
It was women getting their moment again, I was proud to see Tracey Emin’s tree all lit up in Carlos Square in Mayfair
I had time to visit a few galleries. At Hauser & Wirth the work of Jakub Julian Ziolkowski was changing in technique and genre. It was peace and love in respect of his lovely fiancé who is an artist. It’s a big secret where she shows her work in London, not sure why the secrecy…
The ceramic works were wonderful and paintings in themselves
I was left with time to visit my favorites. First up Alex Da Corte at Josh Lilley who had created a trippy architectural underworld
Then David Blandy, at Seventeen, who is exploring the universe and also other people’s universe
Then it was goodbye to all the Zab Team - I was quite devastated to be leaving everyone so early this year
