Open Season!
18 January 2011
Looks like everyone is back in the swing of things - shaping up to be quite a week...
Tuesday I was at Tate Modern for lunch in honour of Gabriel Orozco.

The show was very thoughtful and Gabriel was hanging out with his son. He was surrounded by his close friends such as Gabriel Kuri.
Wolfgang and Sir Nick Serota listening to Gabriel's warm speech.
My evening started at the home of Mark Florman where our wonderful Mayor Boris Johnson spoke about the wonders and ambitions of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Later that night I managed to drop by to see the Ricky Swallow opening at Modern Art. Then dropped by to Keren Cytter at Pilar Corrias.

Then down into the depths of Mason’s Yard I ran into Mrs Pandomonia.
Also bumped into my friend Bev who is mature student at Central St Martins. She was hanging out with her mates.
Then Jay had an amazing dinner for Gilbert and George in Soho.

I was seated between Matt Collishaw and Tracey which of course lent itself to being a very interesting evening.
Thadeus Ropac, art enthusiast Bianca Jagger, and tall dark handsome stranger chatted the night away with Gilbert and George.

On Monday I dropped by to Thomas Dane's where Miguel Abreu was showing his artists. I liked particularly the work of Blake Rayne, Pamela Rosenkranz and Rebecca Quaytman. The show was sensitive and elegant. I dropped by afterwards to Hix and spoke to Giles Round, Dustin Eriksen and Caragh Thuring.
Roy and Tiffany returned from watching the Scissor sisters perform with Boy George in the company of Kylie Minogue at Alison Jacques; Gary Webb had returned from the British Sculpture show at the Royal Academy. Everyone tells me the Sculpture show is a must-see.

On our way home we dropped into Gabriel Orozco’s party at Momo. I was dancing away with Chantal Crousel and Jay till the wee hours of the morning.
