Liste Art Fair 2018
14 July 2018
After a beautiful evening in Zurich, the next morning we head to Liste where, as usual, it was full to the brim with art-goers
Over at Dürst Britt & Mayhew they had a brilliantly barmy work featuring oysters with eyes by Puck Verkade
Thomas van Linge and Puck posing in front of one of the paintings
Deep in the basement, Neue Alte Brücke was presenting new work by Yngve Holen –a washing machine drum along with 3D printed lint
They also presented some great portraits by our previous Invites artist Anthony Green
I then headed upstairs where I bump into artist Jean-Marie Appriou, we both got the pastel colour clothing memo! It makes a change from the harsh and horrid black I often find myself wearing amongst the art
Loved this ceramic work by Kate Newby at The Sunday Painter – ‘All the stuff you already know’, 2018
At MadeIn Gallery I was proud to see Elliot Dodd’s work - ‘Panax Supreme’ was fantastic
Loved his printed metal work ‘Fuel and Lube’
Kris Lemsalu created lovely porcelain works at Temnikova & Kasela
Pia Camil used ceramic to create a series of masks at Sultana Gallery’s booth
There were many new artists I discovered for the first time such as Katarzyna Przezwańska at Dawid Radziszewski
Their work was full of humour and delicacy
At Balice Hertling we all liked Buck Ellison’s photographs. We particularly loved ‘Untitled (Christmas Card)’, 2018
At Galerie Joseph Tang there were some lovely works by Daiga Grantina who recently had a great show in Palais De Tokyo
It was a pleasure to see the Design Miami/Basel show. Artist Jon Rafman, Olivia, Tiffany and myself snuggled into Porky Hefer’s orangutan arms
