I found myself exploring something other than art, this time, the distilleries of Scotland, and I loved every minute! The Cairn Distillery was an architectural feat from beginning to end and even the bottles were works of art
We arrived home to the opening of Marguerite Humeau's show at White Cube which was fantastic, full of incredible organic forms created through a process of AI and imagination and included sound, moving image and sculpture
A fascinating talk by Marguerite and journalist Charlotte Burns about her show called 'meys'
Then, it was a big day for me as we finally got to celebrate the artists and their works entering National Collections after 10 years of intense work. Lizzie and I had worked very hard on this project. There were so many lovely moments. Here Isaac Julien gave such a moving speech thanking me for all I have done for artists.
Even our lovely Tracey came; the artists were so happy. From left to Right Lizzie, Andy Holden, Tracey Emin, Nic Deshayes, Caragh Thuring and Toby Ziegler. Everybody at the event was connected for all different reasons and felt so happy to be part of this amazing project
Tiffany's fantastic launch of Keiken with Daata
I found myself in Bordeaux, France. At Chateau La Tour was the art of Robert Nash and Blake Rayme
I was very sad to miss the Invites presentation of 00 Zhang, which has been an incredible success
I arrived in Milan and jumped straight to the Prada Foundation which had a few impressive highlights. It was lovely to bump into the impressive Carsten Höller upside down mushroom installation
And the Walter De Maria classic car installation was show stopping, especially for the boys. The installation is called Bel Air Trilogy 2000, a stainless steel bar running in the middle of three 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air cars. This work could be a homage of manufacturing sleekness of shapes
Back home, James Brett kept open the Andy Holden installation at his Gallery of Everything. It is an investigation into the relationship between art, life, and mortality. Through the paintings of Hermione Burton, Holden has curated a personal retrospective drawn from her imagined life
We dropped in to see Caragh Thuring's new show 'The Foothills of Pleasure' at Thomas Dane. It was just brilliant. As was Alexandre da Cunha's show 'Broken' also at Thomas Dane, where he had created new works in his continual experimental practice
So proud to see the great works by Jake Elwes in Gazelli Art House
Finally, a spectacular quickie to Margate to see the work of Beatriz Milhazes; the colours were so vivid and wonderful. She had emerged in the 1980s in Brazil and is known for her intense colour
Here's Peter Simon proudly showing me his collage work
