Paris, New York, London
2 November 2010
We made it to Paris for fiac which as usual was a delightfully elegant experience. Paris for the day by Eurostar is so easy. Everyone was smiling, happy and friendly.
We loved at Mitchell-Innes & Nash William Pope. L’s performance: three world leaders holding a huge-looking meteorite excreting dye all over them at their own command.......
Francis Chantala would not let me look at the Josh Smith paintings he was being most difficult.
There are some strange sights at art fairs: a woman artist dragging around a Louis Vuitton dustbin. Perhaps she was hoping someone would drop in a nice little unwanted designer package into her bin.
We dropped by to see Jim Lambie in his show in Paris. My amazing designer friend Jean Pierre Tortil, Elliot Mcdonald and Jim.
New works by Jim Lambie
Back to London and we visited Wolfe Lenkiewicz at his show The House of the Noble Man. It was a very lovely show in a lavish £50 million home in Regents Park.

We found on the top floor a lovely work by Matthew Welch called In The Glass Coffin of the Virgin Forest, the artist was one of Channel 4s New Sensations.

Then it was New York for the week end.Straight from the plane to a black tie event for leukaemia hosted by Denise Rich, called the Angel Ball. I sat between Kenny Shachter and the Master of all artists Jeff Koons. Next to him was his lovely wife Justine and Marc Quinn.
I managed to get a little bit of art in, as all the galleries are closed on Sunday and Monday. I visited the Lower East side where we dropped by to 'On Stellar Rays' Gallery where we saw artist JJPeat. He is really good, I thought and Stellar told me she loved being at Sunday art fair.

Then we went to 'Untitled' to visit Carol Cohen and Joel Mesler. We loved the installation by Matthew Chambers and bought two for the collection.
Tiffany chatted with Brendan Fowler who shares a studio with him in New York. The work we acquired for the collection from Brendan is called 'May, 2010 (Accident/The Wood That Fell On Me In Studio May 20 2010 #'s 6-8) Wall' - the reason being is because the art work had originally fallen on him and crushed him and put him in hospital and rehab for a few weeks.
Amazing what you can pass by in the street even in New York!
In London we dropped by with Louise Hayward and Haroon Mizra to visit Ron Arad. He gave us a thorough tour of his studio and his new furniture. He is an absolute genius and his assistants are all brilliant. He showed us his uber uber knives and forks it was amazing.(Sorry no Photo!)

I dropped into White Cube at 1.30pm to watch the Christian Marclay film it was awesome.
This morning I paid a visit with the Olympic Park team headed by Sarah Weir, I had not been for eighteen months and things have evolved incredibly. Since my last visit a whole town has been built including a shopping centre. Already some amazing artists and architects have been commissioned such as Zaha Hadid and the Aquatic Centre, Claire Woods, DJ Simpson and Jeppe Hein and of course Anish Kapoor and the Orbital tower. I am very excited to be working on this amazing project it has been so far an adventure.

Back to London now and I will be out of circulation till end of November then off to Miami Basel with hopefully more discoveries!
