Part 1: A Little Bit of Peace
21 November 2017
At home sorting out my shelves with Timo Sarpaneva, Erkkitapio Siiroinen and Zaha Hadid - Alexa taking pride of place!
Really lovely to spend a little time in London, relishing and discovering all the delights of Haroon Mirza / HRM199’s annual commission
One of the features of the show is Bjork explaining how a Cathode Ray Tube Television works within 'The System', 2014 installation
There are moments where there are spectacular wall works put in specified positions creating a strong presence
I said goodbye to Rebecca Ackroyd’s Invites show which I loved so much - it went down so well with our visitors!
I actually managed to hit the galleries and visited Annka Kultys Gallery where there was a five-channel video installation ‘Ashley Madison Angels At Work in London’, 2017 by !Mediengruppe Bitnik
It was great to see our loans at pic.london photo festival. I was reunited with these fabulous Nikki S. Lee photos where she put herself in various social situations, from a Wall Street business woman to an OAP
Our Thomas Ruff ‘Untitled Portrait’, 1987 getting plenty of room to shine
Then back over to ZC HQ for a performance by Okkyung Lee who read out the audiences answers to her questions
Plus a beautifully weird solo on the cello - pushing the boundaries
Another day another performance, next up was Beth Kettel our new Invites artist. ‘The Mist of a Pessimist’ live performance was recorded and is now on show at the gallery alongside props and costumes forming an installation. It was whacky and brilliant investigation into Human, Animal and Machine
