Pre-Frieze

Life has
been running on full speed and almost away from me...
It started with Matthew Darbyshire’s dynamic ‘An Exhibition For Modern Living’ at Manchester City Art Gallery. We are so proud to support and collaborate with the gallery as well as lend a number of works to what is Matthew’s largest solo exhibition to date.
Spread across a number of galleries the show is a feast for the eyes. Really love this ‘Smoking Shelter.’
The Manchester Contemporary was also on so we checked out a few of the galleries. Kate V Robertson at Patricia Fleming Projects was a real highlight.
And these Matt Copson designed trainers at Millington | Marriott were fabulous.
I also bumped into Mr 'Made in Manchester’ Frankie Cohen. Glimpse of Tif Zab taking the photo.
Back in London and caught Prem Sahib: Side On at the ICA. It wasn’t totally my cup of tea, well, bar this little dolphin.
Autumn always brings so many great shows to London and Jorge Pardo at David Gill is definitely among them.
Michael Landy returning to his past work and rediscovering new ways to present new issues to talk about in ‘Breaking News.'
Michael Landy, Gillian Wearing, Tom Dingle and Elizabeth Neilson.
CAS hosted a lovely conversation on collecting between Tif Zab, Theo Danjuma and John Evans at Shoreditch House.
Then Omer Fast’s new film ‘Remainder’ was officially released at Tate Modern. Great photo of Omer with Jon Rafman, who has just finished his first live action film for his show with us.
Whilst there I managed to get a preview of the Abraham Cruzvillegas Turbine Hall commission. Fantastic way to transform the enormous space and give it a great soil smell.
Then we finished up with a great new acquisition of Torey Thornton from Stuart Shave/Modern Art.
