Adriano Costa

One of Adriano Costa's skills as an artist lies in his ability to translate the detritus of commodity culture into infinitely curious compositions. The sublimated practicality of his found objects is juxtaposed with the symbolic value attributed to traditional art and craftsmanship. From My Body Comes, Through Your Body Goes (2012) is an installation of diverse components featuring umbrellas, a work in bronze and a crochéd hanging amongst many other objects. At times placed in tentative conversation, the minimalist elements of each feature become a whole that is more than the sum of its individual parts.
