About

Anna Uddenberg creates sculptures that question and distort traditional narratives of femininity, creating an exaggerated representation of contemporary womanhood. She invites the viewer to perceive the context of our technologically bound consumer culture. BFF Twin Torso (2015) explores the ways in which the body is experienced within the wake of the digital revolution, whilst the contorted female figure present in PDA (2016), shows Uddenberg utilising this representation of motherhood in order to amplify the notions of a performative identity under the constraints of modern society – a key aesthetic within her larger body of work.
