Organised by the London Creative Enterprise Collective as part of Testing Ground for art and education, the Creators' Boot Camp offers a day of talks, mentoring and networking to give emerging artists and aspiring creators the tools they need to kick start their careers.

12 - 12.45pm
HOW TO POP UP!

Camden Town Unlimited and Meanwhile Space share their expertise on running a pop-up shop as a way to showcase your work, develop your business ideas or test trade your products. Meanwhile Space are experts in finding 'meanwhile' uses for empty spaces; they run a property matching service and connect empty spaces with creative people. Camden Town Unlimited have used empty retail space as a platform for creativity on Camden High Street; they currently run a semi-permanent pop-up incubator hub for start-ups.

STARTING OUT IN FASHION

NOT JUST A LABEL shares their experience and expertise in starting a business in the fashion industry. From creativity to business management, NJAL will provide advice and tips on what young designers should and shouldn't do when starting their own entrepreneurial endeavours. With experience in helping over 7,000 designers get a foot in the door, NJAL will use anecdotal evidence to to teach young creatives to learn from the mistakes and successes of those before them.

NAVIGATING GRANTS AND FUNDING

Learn to maximise limited resources and fundraise efficiently and effectively for your arts business. Hatch Events lead this workshop to help you gain a clearer understanding of how to manage the fundraising process, identify the right grants and how to increase your chances for success.

2.45 - 3.30pm
EXHIBIT YOURSELF

What does it take to put on your own exhibition? The Emerging Artists Programme at the University of the Arts London presents advice on everything from sourcing spaces and logisitcs, to building a mailing list and promoting the show. Learn the ins and outs and tricks of the trades.

3.40 - 4.25pm
MAKING THE MOST OF EXHIBITIONS

Many artists view exhibitions as a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but in truth exhibitions are a means to an end rather than an end in themselves. Come and hear about what you need to do to get the most out of exhibitions to create further opportunities for your career. This talk will be given by Artquest. London's information and advice service for visual artists.

4.35 - 5.20pm
CREATIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Creative communication skills are essential for finding a great job, starting up a business or setting up as a freelancer. SEE - Student Enterprise and Employability and Speaking Out present this workshop to help attendees develop skills in areas such as presenting their work to potential clients, pitching for business, interviewing, and networking for potential opportunities.

MENTORING:

Throughout the day experts from Etsy, School for Creative Startups and Artsmart will be running 15 minute mentoring sessions.
