Performance: Able Zhang, KONG ZHONG
About
As part of the current exhibition, No Thing is Waiting, attend a performance by artist Able Zhang. Titled KONG ZHONG (“空冢”, meaning “empty grave” in Chinese), the performance takes place simultaneously in two parallel realities; virtually in Shanghai, China and physically at the Zabludowicz Collection in London.
Across space and time, the artist and performer interact via existing video and live, improvised movement. During this intimate, potentially vulnerable communication, Able Zhang’s work invites the viewer to project their own memories onto the character of the performer. By connecting the digital with the real, the experience places the audience in a unique intermediate space; lost between spatial and temporal dimensions, the performance acts as a reminder of the constant feedback loop which we currently inhabit, challenging our perception of reality.
The performance lasts approximately 10 minutes and will take place at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm. Capacity is limited, so please book your preferred time via the booking button.
