The Rituals of Spring Equinox
About
A performance by Tereza Bušková, commissioned for A Tradition I Do Not Mean To Break
Tereza Bušková collaborated with performers Zoë Simon, Eliška Kašparová and Honza Malik in staging this performance. Under the guiding hands of Bušková, scenes from the Spring Equinox film and screen prints were re-enacted live, with the earthly figures (the Nanohach dancers Kašparová and Malik) revolving hysterically around the deity Ostara (Zoë Simon) to the sounds of Bela Emerson's electric cello. With much improvisation in the process, the performance became a ritual in and of itself, leaving the audience mesmerized and overwhelmed.
