The Zabludowicz Collection is delighted to loan Gillian Wearing's Dancing in Peckham (1994) to Neuer Kunstverein, Aschaffenburg, as part of their exhibition 'Dance in the Square' from 5 October to 24 November 2024.
The exhibition presents films and videos made by artists and collectives who use this medium to explore the theme of dance. Music and dance act as a catalyst for the visual and performing arts, political and social protest, literature and fashion. The films cover a period from the 1980s to the present day and were conceived and performed specifically for the camera rather than for a live audience or assembled as collages from historical film material
