About

A new exhibition at Manchester's HOME focusing on contemporary artists' responses to racial politics includes a Zabludowicz Collection loan of work by Kevin Beasley. Untitled (Fades/Violas) was made by casting garments from popular streetwear brands in resin and glue, creating a sculptural form with a flower motif at its centre. This initial visual attraction soon gives way to unsettling details referencing absent bodies and potential violence.

Imitation of Life: Melodrama and Race in the 21st Century
also features a new commission by Sophia Al-Maria and work by artists including Larry Achiampong, Jordan Casteel, Jayson Musson, and Martine Syms. The exhibition continues until 3 July 2016, for more information please visit the HOME website.
