Thomas Ruff work included in Les Rencontres D’Arles photography festival

Jpeg Ny15 by acclaimed artist Thomas Ruff is currently on loan to the Nothing But Blue Skies exhibition, which forms part of Les Rencontres D’Arles photography festival in Southern France. The show brings together artworks created in the aftermath of the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks in New York as a means of reflecting on the documentation of historic events in the post-digital age. Ruff's work, completed in 2007, is drawn from a collection of images appropriated by the artist from online archives. It will be displayed alongside others from the same series, as well as works by artists including Guillaume Chamahian, Paul Chan, Thomas Hirschhorn, Michal Kosakowski, Steve Reich, and Taryn Simon.
