Maria Lassnig: Film, Music and Performance

Inspired by the work of Maria Lassnig, selected animated films from the 1970s by the artist were installed around the galleries and musicians from Camden Live Hidè Takemoto and Hana Piranha responded with live scores. To conclude the afternoon, artist Jane Bustin presented her performance Nijinsky: Faun in collaboration with composer John Snijders on the piano, and movement by Eric Pinto Cata of the Birmingham Royal Ballet Company.

The event was programmed alongside the exhibition The Stand-Ins: Figurative Painting from the Collection (7 October 2021 - 13 February 2022).
