7 May 2014
The release of a new book celebrating the work of Michel Auder coincides with the last chance to see his work on display at the Zabludowicz Collection as part of our exhibition Infinite City
The pioneering French filmmaker has an major new monograph launching in New York at Participant Inc on Saturday 10 May. Stories, Myths, Ironies, and Other Songs: Conceived, Directed, Edited, and Produced by M. Auder explores the artist's diverse output from his emigration to New York in the sixties until the present day.
Infinite City at the Zabludowicz Collection is a rare chance to see Auder's 1999 film The Town, which scans and catalogues New York's skyline at dusk and dawn, suggesting lost pasts and future ruptures. Closing on Sunday 11 May, the exhibition is a collaboration with the Kadist Foundation, from where Auder's work is loaned. The exhibition focuses on the city as material, site, and situation for the contemporary lived experience. Further featured artists include Martin Boyce, Kelley Walker and Slater Bradley.
