Oliver Laric wins Contemporary Art Society Award

The Collection and Usher Gallery, Lincoln with artist Oliver Laric have been awarded the Contemporary Art Society's Annual Award for Museums 2012

The Award, sponsored by Sfumato Foundation, is a £60,000 commission to collect and was presented by Jeremy Deller last night.

The aim of the Annual Award is to support museums to commission new work that, once completed, will remain within the museum's permanent collection.

Oliver Laric plans to produce an open source website of 3D scans of the artefact collections held by The Collection and will produce a 'Version' which will enter the Usher Gallery Collection.
