Samara Golden unveils new work for Frieze Projects New York
13 May 2015
Samara Golden, currently exhibiting as part of Zabludowicz Collection: 20 Years, has produced new work for Frieze Projects. Golden creates atmospheric environments that deliberately disturb and distort the viewer’s perception. For this week's Frieze art fair in New York, she has been commissioned to build a new space directly beneath the fair itself. Opening Thursday May 14, Always smile at the mask of hate for it covers a sad face will integrate the inner workings of Frieze New York's usually unseen infrastructure, including electrical wiring, support structures, and air conditioning vents, into a haunting installation only accessible from an outside entrance. For more information please visit the Frieze Projects New York website.
See Samara Golden's work displayed in London for the first time as part of our current exhibition Zabludowicz Collection: 20 Years. Presented as an immersive solo installation, Bad Brains, 2012, is an intricate, cinematic display charged with emotional intensity.
