Susan Collis 'White Lies' loaned for solo exhibition
27 August 2017
A new solo exhibition by Susan Collis has been supported with the loan of White Lies, 2006, by the Zabludowicz Collection. Collis' sculptural approach combines seemingly worthless objects with dramatic detailing that frequently includes precious materials to surprise the viewer and signal towards questions of value and sentimentality. With White Lies, 2006, a worn step ladder is inlayed with opal, pearl and semi-precious stones from around the world in forms that suggest spilt paint and coffee stains. The exhibition When we loved you best of all, at Touchstones Gallery, Rochdale, brings together artwork spanning Collis' career including sculpture, film and photography across three gallery spaces.
Susan Collis, When we love you best of all, will be displayed at Touchstones Gallery, Rochdale, until 30 September 2017. For further information please visit the Rochdale Cultural Trust website.
